Fort Sherman Dam Named after the local historic site, first construction of Fort Sherman Dam began in 1974. The earthfilled dam was built to a maximum height of 69 feet, a top width of 25 feet, and is 10,800 feet long.
Recreation and Wildlife As well as being well known for its water storage and industrial use, the reservoir is known as a top bass-fishing lake for anglers.  Visitors may also enjoy swimming or watching the various wildlife that can be seen around Lake Bob Sandlin.
Safety Lake Bob Sandlin is patrolled by the Titus County Fresh Water Supply District No. 1 Police Department and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to ensure safety and offer assistance when needed.
Lake Bob Sandlin On the border of Titus and Camp counties, Lake Bob Sandlin is on Big Cypress Creek about six miles southwest of Mount Pleasant and six miles northwest of Pittsburg.  The lake was named in honor of its major proponent, local businessman, civic leader, and Titus County Fresh Water Supply District No. 1 president Bob Sandlin.  A formal ceremony dedicated the lake on June 25, 1978.
